Anime/Manga È Misc. È Story of a Servant B s : A A A Author: Senigata Fiction Rated: M - English - Romance/Drama - Reviews: 2 - Published: 01-10-06 - Updated: 01-10-06 - Complete id:2747126 I always wanted to write a Fate/Stay Night fan fiction and after a good time of thinking I came up with something. Beware I havenÕt played the game (but I intend to) and I have the feeling that the Anime wonÕt grasp the whole story of the game, so this will probably be a bit AU. Oh and I made it based on the Unlimited Blade Works Scenario, with the ending where Rin is SaberÕs Partner at the end. Pairings: some Saber/Rin and another one, so go figure ;) Type Moon own Fate/Stay Night and I'm not getting any money from this. The story of a Servant Moonlight shone through the window, illuminating everything in light silver. There in the dark room sat a beautiful, blond woman looking at the moon, fascinated of its sheer mystery. Well for an average person the moon wouldnÕt be so fascinating; a big rock would some people say. But to her it would always be, of course she wasnÕt a normal person either. No she was a servant, the loyal follower of the wizard that summoned him. She was Saber. Her purpose was to fight for her master so that he could win the Holy Grail so that it would grant them a wish. She averted her gaze from the moon and looked at the sleeping form that lies beneath blankets in the bed. Rin Tohsaka. She was her 2nd Master in this war for the Grail. After Caster canceled her contract with Shirou with her Noble Phantasm and the betrayal of Archer Rin and herself made a new contract to fight the traitor. She felt guilty about the thought but she was secretly glad that Rin was her new partner, since she could now use some of her old powers again. In the end it was Shirou who fought against Archer, revealing that Archer was his future self, and defeated the real menace behind it all, her nemesis; Gilgamesh. But now it was over. She smiled a little as Rin turned in her sleep, while mumbling in her sleep. Ò...weÕve won the grail, SaberÓ her smile widened when she saw that Rin hugged a little plush lion. Saber always liked lions since her childhood. She let her eyes trail over the flawless skin of Rin to her raven hair. She was truly a beautiful woman. Saber sighed and looked away; she knew those feelings very good. She once felt those exact same feelings in her past life. Looking to the moon again, while her master slept, she began to remember. Arturia Pendragon rode on her white horse through the planes, enjoying one of her few days in which she wasnÕt bothered with duties. Those were the days where she would go riding, sleep or go fishing like her foster father, Sir Ector, did with her. She mused silently on the fact that she was raised like a boy, which probably was the reason why she insisted to be called king. And it was that boyish attitude that made her fall in love with her Guenevere and vice-versa. She still couldnÕt believe that they were engaged. She wasnÕt blind; she knew there were people who disapproved of it, mainly the Christians under her rule. Shaking her head; she threw the thought out of her mind and stopped on a hill. There it was. Camelot, the core of everything she and her Knights fought and bled for. Arturia clapped the reins of her horse and rode down the hill. As she approached Camelot she saw two silhouettes riding her way; she recognized them as Bedivere and Gawain. The came to a halt in front of each others and the two Knights bowed their heads in respect. ÒMy King...Ó said Bedivere. Ò...YouÕve got us worried and-Ò ÒYou mean got you worriedÓ interrupted Gawain. Ò-Believed that something had happened to youÓ finished Bedivere, slightly blushing, giving the other Knight a glare, who just chuckled. Arturia couldnÕt help but chuckle herself. It was true that Bedivere was a tad bit too worried about her, as if she couldnÕt help herself! ÒWell, if you two are done, perhaps we should get backÓ she said teasingly, riding past them into camelot, letting the Knights stare dumbfounded after her. She climbed of her Horse just to feel a soft body press against and arms around herself. She looked up and saw the soft brown eyes of her beloved Guenevere. ÒArturiaÓ Guenevere said, full of love. ÒWhere-Ò She couldnÕt finish the sentence because she was pulled into a deep kiss. ÒRidingÓ said Arturia simply, letting a Squire take her Horse into the stables. She took GuenevereÕs hand into her own and let her into the castle. "So you went riding, againÓ said Lancelot as his sword clashed with Excalibur. ÒBedivere most have gotten a Heart-attackÓ ÒWell you know how he isÓ answered king Arturia, while spinning and blocking another attack. The two of them made it a habit to spar frequently, since the day they fought against each other the first time. That day was special to everyone because that was the day the real Power of Excalibur had been awoken; After Lancelot had broken the sword the Lady of the Lake forged and granted it with her powers, which was the reason that Arturia would not age. ÒYeah, head over heels if you ask meÓ Lancelot laughed. ÒSometimes youÕre cruel to himÓ Arturia swung Excalibur, hitting the sword on its hilt, causing it to fall to the floor. Lancelot stumbled backwards on his behind while Excalibur was held against his throat. ÒGetting sloppy, ey?Ó she asked her friend. ÒMaybe youÕre just getting better, my kingÓ he said and Arturia grinned, holding out her hand to help him up. ÒThat one is a givenÓ she said still grinning, helping Lancelot to his feet. ÒCome on, letÕs eatÓ ÒYou certainly like to eat...Ó She wasinterrupted from her retrospection by Rin who was again moving in her sleep, smacking her lips together. After making sure that Rin was still asleep, she averted her gaze again to the moon. Ah yes. Those were the happy times when nobody had a care in the world, where peace lasted in the lands. And Guenevere... She shook her head; she knew that she would remember that as well, but not yet... She willed herself to think about happy memories. Arturia lay on one grassy hills of Camelot, watching as the Clouds passes by. She sometimes missed doing that with her step-brother. She couldnÕt do that with her half-sister. Elaine and Morgause were married, the latter even had a little son with the name Mordred, and Morgan was always busy studying under Merlin. She sighed. They always scolded her for being silly. She narrowed her eyes as a shadow fell over her. Looking in the direction from which the shadow came she found Guenevere standing there, smiling. Her betrothed sat beside her. ÒHere you areÓ said Guenevere. ÒIÕve been searching for you all morningÓ The female king smiled. ÒWell now you found me, my dearÓ she said and pulled her against herself. ÒOh and missed you, tooÓ ÒHow much?Ó asked Guenevere. ÒThat muchÓ and with that Arturia pulled her lover into a loving kiss. The kiss soon grows more intense as Arturia ran her tongue along GuenevereÕs lips. Her lover opened parted her lips, letting Arturia tasting the sweetness of her. The king broke the kiss just as Guenevere started to moan into her mouth. ÒSeems like thereÕs someone enjoying herselfÓ said Arturia grinning and rolled her over. ÒNo talkingÓ said the future queen and pulled Arturia down for another kiss. ÒMy KingÓ shouted Bedivere, appearing behind a hill ÒKing Arturia where you?Ó The king groaned, always in the wrong moment. ÒMaybe we should st-Òshe was cut of by another hungry kiss from her betrothed. Maybe he wouldnÕt see them. ÒKing A-agh!Ó so much for not being seen. ÒWhat is it Bedivere?Ó asked Arturia the now blushing Knight that had his back to her. ÒT-The Court wanted your opinion on somethingÓ Arturia sighed. ÒI will be there in a few minutesÓ Arturia moaned out and fell shuddering against her wife, her queen. They were just married and had now really time for one another. She pressed her naked, sweating against that of her wife. They both panted in the same rhythm, trying to get their breath, and snuggled to one another. ÒI love youÓ Arturia said; she knew that she didnÕt say it often. ÒI love you, tooÓ came the exhausted answer. Arturia wasnÕt surprised, they had done this for hours, and she wouldnÕt be surprised if the Knights would look at them strangely in the morning, faces all red of course! She closed her eyes, enjoying the feeling of her wife so close to her, not caring if something would happen. She opened them again only to see Guenevere with a far away look in her eyes. ÒIs something the matter?Ó Her wife looked at her, smiling. ÒI...just canÕt believe that it finally happenedÓ ÒYeah, it seems like everything moved so fast today...Ó Guenevere smiled at Arturia and snuggled closer to her. ÒLetÕs better get to sleep; her Highness has duties to attend in the morningÓ ÒYes and her wife does have some tooÓ ÒDamnÓ Now that she reflected on that moment she could have seen it coming, maybe she was just so in love that she didnÕt see it or it wasnÕt important to her. This thought stung the most. And then the day that changed everything came. Arturia walked through the halls of Camelot, it was a hard day. There were rumors that the Romans planned something and if that really was the case they had to be on alert. She wanted to open the door to her and GuenevereÕs Quarters but stopped as she heard a familiar voice. ÒYou have to tell her, my LadyÓ she heard LancelotÕs voice from behind the door. ÒI canÕt tell her! She would be devastated if I told herÓ said her wife, sounding desperate. ÒThis canÕt go on like this; she will only hurt more if you donÕt tell herÓ Arturias eyes narrowed angrily as she heard those words. The feeling of betrayal crept slowly up her body to her heart. Angrily she grabbed the handle of the door and pushed. ÒYou should tell herÓ said her old friend, as she walked in, none of them noticing her. ÒYes, you should tell herÓ Both of them whirled to the door, seeing who was standing there. ÒSo since when is this going onÓ GuenevereÕs eyes widened at those words, did she really assume? ÒIt isnÕt like that, itÕs-Ò ÒTHEN what is this about!Ó shouted the king, punching the wall with the gauntlet on her right hand. ÒTELL ME!Ó Her wife looked at Lancelot. ÒLeaveÓ Lancelot bowed hesitantly and left without a word, closing the door behind him. Guenevere sat down on the bed, their bed. ÒThere is nothing between me and LancelotÓ she began, as if not knowing where to start. ÒI...I suffer a severe sicknessÓ She could see some of the anger leave Arturia. ÒWha-why- what sort of sicknessÓ asked the King and walked over to her Wife, who just shook her head. ÒI donÕt know...Ó Arturia said nothing for a while. After what seemed like hours she asked: ÒWhy him? Why did you tell him?Ó Guenevere sighed. ÒI just told him, because he was there when I fell unconscious in the hallwayÓ ArturiaÕs gaze turned to the floor. Of course that was it and now she felt guilt creep up her body. ÒBut why didnÕt you tell me?Ó Her wife looked at her with a sad smile. ÒI didnÕt want to upset you; youÕve enough problems as it isÓ ÒYou came always first for me! If I had known I would haven taken you to Merlin he would-Ò ÒThere was nothing I could do, ArturiaÓ said the Wizard, standing in the doorway. ÒThere is no cureÓ Arturia didnÕt know what to say. Merlin was the wisest person she knew. She walked around the room, deep in thought. Then an idea came to her mind. ÒWhat about the Holy Grail, it is said to fulfill one wish to the person who obtains it, that-Ò ÒIt would take years to find it, I wonÕt live that longÓ said her wife quietly. ÒHow long?Ó asked Arturia, turning to Merlin. ÒA Year at mostÓ the Wizard felt suddenly very old, he knew that it would hurt the King, maybe enough to kill her. At times like that he wished to still have the ability to look into the future. ÒPlease leave us alone, Merlin...Ó Saber closed her eyes. And it was just six month after that event that she sat beside GuenevereÕs death bed. Lancelot never left her side in that last hours and she was still thankful for it. Even if she couldnÕt cry over it anymore. After that she was bedridden for weeks and the Knights thought that she would follow her Wife. But she found her strength again, maybe even more than before. But it changed her forever. She became distant, often eating in the privacy of her room. And then the Romans attacked, having heard of the death of her wife and believing that it would make her easy to defeat. They defeated the Romans in a fierce battle. Just when they wanted to celebrate, news arrived to her that her Half-sister Morgause and her son clamed the Throne. And so the fated battle, in which her soul would become a servant, began. Knowing that Merlin took care of her wretched Sister, she had slain her way through the enemy troops, leaving her loyal soldiers behind. And it was then, that she stood face to face with her Nephew. ÒDo you really think you could defeat me?Ó she asked coldly, while their swords clashed against each other. ÒA wench like you doesnÕt deserve to be KINGÓ he attacked her, fiercer than before and taking her by surprise. His Sword connected with her side, ripped through the flesh and leaving a large gash. She stumbled back, swallowing hard, while he just laughed. ÒDoesnÕt look like youÕre that mighty, dearest AuntÓ he said mockingly, running straight at her. Feeling that her consciousness started to leave her, she pulled everything she had into one last strike. Just as Mordred was a few inches away, Arturia held her arms wide open, letting her get pierced by the sword. She slumped against him. ÒHeheheÓ Mordred started than broke out into full fledged laughter. ÒHAHAHAHAHA!Ó His laughing came to an abrupt halt, as he felt one hand grab his sword, holding it tightly while another one lifted himself behind him. Bringing her arm down Excalibur pierced through him and herself. She pulled roughly away from him, ripping Excalibur and his sword violently out of herself. She lifted Excalibur one more time and slit his throat. Looking at the corpse of her nephew she stumbled towards a nearby tree and let herself fall against it. Using her last strength she thrust Excalibur into the ground. After what seemed like hours Merlin came into the clearing, together with Lancelot, Morgan and Bedivere. ÒArturia!Ó shouted the Wizard, kneeling beside her just barely consciousness form. ÒMerlin...Ó she said, coughing up some blood. ÒIÕm sorry...Ó And with that she sank into darkness, only hearing for one last time. ÒWe are bringing her to AvalonÓ And that was how she became a Servant to fight for the Holy Grail. She left the past behind a long time ago, thatÕs why she never wanted anyone to know her true name; it was always just Saber. She looked again at the sleeping form of her Master, smiling again. She knew what drew her towards the raven haired girl that lay under the covers, sleeping. She reminded her a bit of her past love but the unique parts of her personality were attractive to her, too. Her smile widened. This stubborn, sometimes difficult but good hearted girl crept her way into her, what she thought was forever locked, heart. And now she knew what she would wish herself from the Grail. That she would always be with this girl, forever. Saber stood from her place and walked over to the sleeping form of Rin, leaning over her. ÒSleep well, RinÓ she said and brushed her lips softlyagainst those of her master. She left the room silently, going to take some rest herself. Rin opened her eyes, smiling softly as she touched her lips. ÒSleep well...SaberÓ she said, closing her eyes and drifting back into her dreams where she and Saber got their wishes; Each other. Heh, I bet some of you thought that this would be one of those Lancelot and Guenevere getting it on things. Well I wanted tom but decided against it, because Fate/Stay Night gave an alternate Arthur in form of Saber/Arturia so I thought I create a scenario that is a little bit different. Ignoring the little bit that Gawain was MordredÕs brother (or so IÕve heard) and that Arthur never knew of his Sisters. Never mind! Hmm if I look at it itÕs kinda cheesy, I guess I was just in the mood to write something like that. I consider writing a sequel as it wouldnÕt be a sequel but more of a spin-off of the facts that are given here. Reviews would be appreciated.
